Poem for Adar & Purim: Light and Dark

New poem for Adar exploring the distinctions that help us understand holiness, through Chava & Lilith and Esther & Vashti

Chava and Lilith, two sides of the same coin
Chava, mother of all living things
Lilith, mother of passion and creativity

That makes life worth living.
One without the other is pointless

Light and dark
Neither inherently good nor bad
Each needed to know the other.

Art doesn’t exist without life,
But life must come first

Vashti, wild and inspiring
But, Esther, is needed to give life.
No Esther, without Vashti nor Vashti without Esther

Between light and dark
We understand the sacred

  1. Beautiful! Light & dark are both necessary indeed, and energy could not exist without both negative & positive energies.
