I name my year at Rosh Hashanah every year, but it’s hard to not feel the pull of the collective energy at the secular new year when everyone is making their resolutions. My word for 5770 is “harmony.” It started as “balance”, but I’m looking for more than just balance. I’m looking for my life working together. I guess I really have a 5770 phrase, which is harmonious balance. Balance means I’m just finding my way across the tight rope without falling. It doesn’t add any sense of joy, love, or accomplishment. It just means I ‘m not falling on my ass. I’m looking for more harmony in my balance.

Here’s my dream that I’m putting out into the world for 2010 to help me live a year of harmonious balance:
- I will love my life, because it is mine and I have chosen it.
- I will embrace joy and dance with it!
- I will do the work for myself and just be grateful when it resonates with someone else.
- I will integrate the priestess into all that I do.
Here’s to a beautiful, joyful, balanced, and harmonious 5770 and 2010 and my deepest gratitude to the many amazing people who inspire me every day.

[...] 1. Dream Decree 2010, January The exercise of creating this “Dream Decree” (thanks to whoever inspired that phrase), started my year off right and helped me regroup at the end when things got really tough. The image of the purple shoes with the phrase “I will love my life because it is mine, and I have chosen it,” was a centering thought for me for much of the year. I used that image as my background image on my computer at work for the first half of the year. While somewhere along the way I forgot about this, I found it again just a few weeks back. It helped me upright myself and end the year on a positive note. [...]
