I know some of you are planning on attending Free Spirit Gathering, and I’m really excited to meet more of you in person, finally! The class & ritual schedule for Free Spirit Gathering has been posted, and the two workshops I’m leading will be on Wednesday morning and afternoon. Friday evening I’ll be leading a Kabbalat Shabbat circle, which begins around 8:35 and on Saturday night Jennifer Hunter (author of Magickal Judaism: Connecting Pagan & Jewish Practice) will be leading a Havdalah ritual.
Here’s a link to the schedule: http://www.free-spirit.org/Festival/Grid.html
And here are descriptions of the two workshops I’m leading. If you aren’t going to be there on Wednesday, and are still interested I can always do them a second time unofficially — so just let me know. Also, these are actually workshops I could do via tele-conference, so if there’s interest in that give me a shout. Introduction to the Aleph-Bet – Wednesday, June 13 @ 10:00a.m.
Come and meet the Hebrew Aleph-Bet! You’ve probably seen the letters on your tarot cards or heard some Hebrew used in ceremonial magick; maybe you were raised in a Jewish home and don’t really remember much, or maybe you are just curious. Like many of the ancient alphabets, the Hebrew aleph-bet not only communicated through the creation of words, but, like the runic alphabet, each letter also has its own meaning. In this workshop we’ll meet the letters, discuss the history of the language, and delve into the meanings. This class does not require any previous knowledge of Hebrew. Max class size: 25.
Working with The Aleph-Bet — Wednesday, June 13 @ 2:00p.m.
Come explore ways to use the Hebrew Aleph-Bet for magick, meditation, and spiritual growth. Like many of the ancient alphabets the Hebrew aleph-bet not only communicated through the creation of words, but like the runic alphabet, each letter also has its own meaning. We’ll review some of the letters and their meanings and then move into using the Aleph-Bet for meditation, magick, and other spiritual practices. This class does not require any previous knowledge of Hebrew, but attendance at Introduction to the Aleph-Bet is encouraged. Max class size: 25.
