18 for 18 for Pesach
I had my first haggadah sale of 5771, and it got me thinking. I‘ve decided that I’m going to donate $18 to PunkTorah for every 18 haggadot you buy! 18 is the numerical equivalent for the word “chai” (חי). That chai with a hard “h” not chai as in the tea.
The word “chai” (חי) means life! Because of this, the number 18 and multiples of 18 are considered very auspicious in Judaism.
PunkTorah has been great to me, so I want to be good back to them. If you don’t know what PunkTorah is about, you should check them out. They are a registered 501 (c) 3, which means a non-profit organization. They have a bunch of amazing programs like OneShul.org, New Kosher, and 3x Daily. They are dedicated to alternative routes to Jewish practice. Not just inspiring a Jewish identity, but truly removing barriers to bring Jews of all stripes, colors, and orientations into a deep and meaningful Jewish practice. Their moto is “Bringing Judaism into the 21st century…,” to which I say — woot!!!
So help me help PunkTorah! Spread the word and let’s see how much money we can raise for them. For $5 you get a PDF copy of my fabulous Haggadah that allows you to print as many copies as you need for your seder! So each person buys one and can make whatever they need for pennies. Every time I hit 18 sales, I’ll send $18 dollars over to PunkTorah. It’s that simple!

Culture: I am fascinated by both culture on most levels. I mostly focus on American culture and what makes us who we are as a country, but I'm also intrigued by sub-cultures in the USA and the growing global cultural trends.
