Shalom Ketzirah! I love your altar. Most recently I created a family altar for Tu b'Shevat. I just recently started using an altar. I was contemplating since I am at my desk both at work and at home, that I should have personal altars there considering I am there most of the day and night. I like using an altar because it is a collect expression of one's individual consciousness. Another reason, for those who meditate or chant, it's a place where you can focus your own personal energy and meet with the Divine universal energy that is all around. I am contemplating building an altar outdoors. Be Blessed!

Thank you Aron for writing this. It address the views I very much hold especially about approaching Torah and the concepts of the divine through myth and metaphor.

Thank you for pointing me to this via twitter. I read it when your original posted it but I needed to see it again this morning.

I am not a Virgo (Sag, Scorpio Rising, Taurus moon) but a lack of structure had me feeling a bit overwhelmed by amazing and wonderful things happening in my life. Your post shed just the beam of light that I needed to pay attention to that fact. Thank you.

PS I had forgotten the dandelion photo associated with the post.

Since I live in a redwood forest, planting more trees is not helpful. However, taking time to really appreciate them at this season speaks to much the same spiritual need.

Sadly -- totally serious. When I was little, we had a white plastic tree with blue tinsel, dreidels, stars of David, and Wizard of Oz ornaments. Not sure what the Wizard of Oz had to do with anything, but I remember them. Thankfully, when my folks split up -- my mom chucked the tree!
