History of Hanukkah - The History Channel

Yes, I know it is a minor holiday. But, with its relation to the soltice (even just on the calendar) Hanukkah can be an important holiday for Jewitches. Really, it is an important holiday for all Jews now, because it is how we differentiate ourselves from Christians around Christmas time. From now, until Hannukah, I’ll try to post as many interesting websites, stories, thoughts, practices, and lore as I can manage.

Let’s start things off with this offering from the History Channel.

Tarot Review - December 2005

Monthly Aecletic.net email came this morning — couple of really cool new decks! Here are my favorites.

Tarocchi delle Fiabe
“The Tarocchi delle Fiabe is a collaborative 22-card deck of illustrated fairytales, with art from 22 different artists.” — Seems like this would be great for Storyworking! (my lastest spiritual kick!)

Tarot ReVISIONed
“Tarot ReVISIONed has 22 black and white, symbolic, and extremely detailed cards. The postcard-sized cards also have quotes on the reverse side for additional insight into the imagery.” — love the style of the cards. Really detailed and well executed designs. No minors, but still seems like it would be really powerful to work with.

The Well Worn Path
“The Well Worn Path is a set of 40 cards designed around Pagan teachings and depicting tools, deities, concepts and rituals. It’s especially for Pagan, Wiccans and Witches and can be used for divination, meditation, or in rituals.” — based on the samples, this deck is ideal for exactly what they describe. I can definitely see using it in ritual and also for storyworking (that word again — I’ll write more on that later) and for meditation and such. I especially like the back of the cards. It has to be pretty nice for them to bother showing it!
