Magickal Washington Walk

It’s been a while since I’ve been able to update this site regularly. Don’t think that means I’m abandoning it. I’ve been so busy with my occupation and avocation, I just haven’t had time to update the site. It’s important to me to keep it alive, so I’ll be sticking to a more regular publishing schedule again.

I’m currently hard at work on several new workshops for festivals this summer, and a new full moon ritual that I’m leading next week! I’m very excited about the full moon ritual. It’s going to be a magickal moonlight walk from the Lincoln Memorial to the George Mason Memorial. The goal is to conncect with the spirit of the city, and help to remove some of the pounds of negativity heaped upon her by those who don’t really know her. Washington, DC is one of those places that people around the world send energy to — and a lot of isn’t really nice.

I’m a firm believer in connecting with the spirits and energies of your home — not just ancestral or spiritual homelands like Israel (or Ireland and England for many of my Anglo/Celt friends). Washington is a beautiful city full of inherent and intentional (man-made) magick. Most people don’t see beyond the tourist spots, and even those they only look at in the simplest contexts.

It’s just like a pomegranate. They’re really pretty just sitting in a bowl, but you really are missing out if you don’t at least try to see what’s inside. Many people will just slice it in half, and again, lose a lot. But if you are willing to put in a little more effort and actually peel a pomegranate — the rewards are much, much sweeter and richer.

If you live in the DC area and want to join in on my magickal walk, just meet me at the steps of the Lincoln Memorial at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday May 21, 2005.

Blessings and happiness.
